Scholarship Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: September 2024
By applying for the Higher Education Traveler Scholarship offered by WorldStrides, you agree to the following terms:
- To be awarded a scholarship, applicants must be enrolled at their university and registered to travel on a valid faculty-led,
WorldStrides Custom Program departing during the dates stated. - Pre-MBA, MBA, PMBA, and EMBA students are not eligible to receive the scholarships.
- Students who are awarded the scholarship are not eligible to apply again.
- In order for a scholarship to be awarded, a minimum of 10 submissions per scholarship available must be received during
the application period specified for each scholarship. - Scholarship winners will be contacted within five weeks of the scholarship deadline, and may be contacted via phone,
email, and/or physical mail. - Scholarship recipients will be required to submit a brief post-trip testimonial via video and/or photo and written statement
within 30 days of returning from the WorldStrides program. WorldStrides has the right to use this testimonial on
WorldStrides websites and social media properties and in other marketing communications. - Scholarship recipients must use the awarded scholarship money for educational costs or travel expenses related to their
WorldStrides program. - WorldStrides cannot make guarantees about the timing of such payment as it relates to the winner’s date for travel. If
awarded prior to travel, scholarship monies will be applied directly to the student’s WorldStrides account. In the event the
scholarship is awarded after the winner has traveled, scholarship monies will be paid via check in USD for the scholarship
amount stated or the amount paid by the student (whichever is of lesser value). - WorldStrides reserves the right to change the scholarship program at any time without notice, including available
scholarships, deadlines, requirements, award amounts, or other program details. - If recipients do not reply by the date specified in the award email, WorldStrides reserves the right not to award the
scholarship to the winner, and to award the scholarship to another applicant or to redistribute the scholarship award
dollars. - Should the travel program of the scholarship recipient be cancelled by their institution or otherwise, the scholarship award
will be forfeited. Should the travel program of the scholarship recipient be postponed or rerouted by their institution or
otherwise, the scholarship may be applied to the recipient’s future WorldStrides Custom Program at that same institution if
taking place within 6 months of the original travel program. - If scholarship recipients withdraw or do not travel on the designated WorldStrides program, they forfeit their scholarship
award. If funds have already been received, the recipient must reimburse the monies received. If the scholarship has not
yet been issued, WorldStrides has the right to terminate scholarship payment. - WorldStrides uses commercially reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to assist us in preventing
unauthorized access, use and disclosure of sensitive information. Furthermore, WorldStrides uses industry best-practices
for the secure and reasonable retention of information and records and information. More information regarding
WorldStrides’ Privacy Policy and Records Retention Policy are available upon request. - Scholarship recipients must submit a completed W9 in order to receive the awarded scholarship funds. Scholarship
recipients may be responsible for claiming scholarship funds as taxable income. For additional information regarding if a
scholarship is taxable, please visit the IRS website or contact your local IRS office.
